Welcome to the new site!

Welcome to the launch of the new Alley website.  We are excited for all that this offers and still have a couple of surprises coming soon.

We loved our old site but it was more of a brochure in style (offered good information in a way that looked nice.)

This new site is designed with community in mind.  It is set up to be a “digital lobby” of sorts.  You will be able to interact with Sunday teachings, comment on a steady stream of blog posts (which will start coming soon) and a few other fun things that are still being tweaked in theAlley labs.

Welcome to the new site… feel free to dig around and let us know what you think.

If you haven’t already please link in with us via the Facebook Connect button and join the online community!

I agree Kelly. I’m really looking forward to full functionality and use. Watch for a steady stream of new content starting tomorrow!!

YAY! Just a note…when I’m typing in this box the grey on black in really difficult to read. Also, I wonder if the font size could be increased for us older people? Even just one point might help …it’s pretty small.

  4. Brian Smith says:

Thanks for the suggestions. We will chew on them in the lab.

what ben said :) I do like the white screen better when I’m typing although I know as a design asthetic it’s awfully white. It just allows me to see all of my spelling mistakes a whole lot easier so thanks!

Something you may not know about the site… If you’re on a teaching page you can leave a comment there as well.

For example, you can find our Controversial teaching series and leave comments on it here: http://www.thealley.org/2009/10/21/controversial/

  7. I like the “?” after the word New

  8. Looking good! Congrats on getting the new site up.

Looks GREAT! I love that finding past services to listen to or watch is easier find and will be easier to direct people to. The link to the blog comments was hard for me spot at first however. Maybe this could be made more prominent? Oh, and I am grateful for the spell check feature on here!

Have you at all thought about adding a “recent comments” box? That might be cool to track what people are talking about. (Don’t ask me how that would work, just thought it might be cool to have on the frontpage?)
