New Worship Tune: How He Loves
January 7, 2010 by Brian Smith
We are singing a new worship tune this Sunday @ theAlley. It is a song that has been around for a while and covered by several artists. The David Crowder Band version is one that I really enjoy and figured it would be a great addition to Sunday morning worship:
The song was written by John Mark McMillan after the passing of a friend from a tragic car accident. That same friend had said earlier that day something to the affect of: ”If it would shake the youth of a nation, I will give my life today”
The last verse is left out of this version but is a very personal one to McMillan. It reads:
I thought about you
The day Stephen died
And you met me between my breaking
I know that I still love you God
Despite the agony
See people they want to tell me your cruel
But if Stephen could sing
He’d say its not true
Cause your good
An amazing song about the uncomprehendable love that God has for his people even in times of despair.

This is great Brian! I am really excited!
Great song! I also like the version done by Kim Walker on the CD by Jesus Culture called, “We Cry Out.”
Agreed…Jesus Culture puts out some amazing work!
This song has been in my head and on my heart alot the past week and it brings me hope and joy that we are singing it tomorrow.
Love the hurricane/tree analogy…
