Tutoring @ the Shelter

We are looking to recruit some tutors for “homework help” at the Women’s shelter….no PhD or teaching degree required; just a little bit of patience, creativity (if all else fails, use your “phone-a-friend”) and a desire to make a difference in the life of a child!

The staff and families at the shelter have been looking for some additional help with homework for some time now, as it has been stretching the staff there a bit thin. Based on the interest level so far, we are hoping to kick things off in February.

The goal is a monthly rotation that offers 2 tutors each Tues from 3-4:00 and Wed from 5-6:00. We are asking for a committment of at least one night/month, and in an effort to provide consistency for the kids, would love to have a few of us there 2 or more evenings/month.

1. Do you prefer Tuesday from 3-4:00 or Wednesday from 5-6:00?
2. Is there a particular week of the month that works best for you?
3. When are you available to start?
4. How many days/month you would like to help out?
