People Helping People-Calling All Home Repair Experts!!!
Maintaining a home can be stressful, and it takes patience and knowledge to navigate through the problems that occur from season to season. In my 12 years of being a carpenter/landscaper/etc… I have come to realize that I do not know everything there is to know about fixing things. Frequently in my projects I come across something that looks to be way over my head. The usual response is for me to freak out for a few minutes, and then proceed to get on the phone to try to talk to someone who can lead me in the right direction to solve my problem. I have been blessed by great friends and co-workers that come to my rescue by providing the information I so desperately needed, thus easing my nerves. That is why I love the idea of this ministry….we can offer that same relief to others who don’t necessarily have a network of professionals/support to call on!
Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to ask our Alley friends “What do you know about home repairs”? The goal is to provide a list of names and numbers of people who are willing to donate their time and most importantly, their knowledge, to people who desperately need it. Can I fix this myself? How much will this cost? Who should I call? In these tough times, questions like these can make or break a family’s financials. By making yourself available to serve others, WE can help serve just by picking up the phone and answering a few questions. If you have the skills and/or knowledge, and you feel God calling you to help your fellow man, by all means send me an e-mail and lets get this list going!!
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
